So not that I seriously believe in curses, however it does seem as if rather than having the "midas" touch when it comes to cars I have quite the opposite.
For this I will need to take you back in time to last summer...
My car in the summer decided to need nearly $2000 worth of work done to kepe it running. I took it for the 100k check up, expecting a bill of $700 or so, and get a call that the bill will be $2000. This is just the beginning.
I borrow my mum's Xterra while my car is being repaired, during the course of using the car I back it into another in a parking lot. Yes, I did hit a parked car, going about 5 miles per hour.
Then because I don't want to risk taking my car to Sacramento, in September I borrow my younger brother's car. While on the way home, in the middle of the freeway, a busy freeway the car decides to stop. Yes, it just stopped. And I am stuck in the car, in a middle lane, with no cars streaming by me, and well yes, it turns out that what was wrong with the car is something that happens in very few cars, and only happens on the make and model of my brother's car. BUT did it have to happen to me while I was driving?!
Oh but wait, it continues in November my car battery decides to die. I had been driving it all day, drive it to the grocery store, buy groceries, come back to the car, and it won't start! Rather than the normal cost of replacing my battery, mine costs twice as much because of the labor; because supposedly my battery is located in an awkward position in the hood.
The most recent car story indirectly involves me. On Sunday I drove my dad's car to church. He drove it home, well actually to the golf club. He comes out of the golf club, and the car won't start. I know, I know - but at least this time I wasn't actually the one behind the wheel. But could you imagine if it had been?! I think I would have lost it. As it is due to the past trouble with cars I am already paranoid about my lack of "midas" touch with cars. Anywho, it turns out that the battery needs replacing....and well there was no apparent reason for it to stop working, it just did.
I was planning on borrowing my mum's car on Wednesday to drive to Tahoe, but I am rethinking that plan. AND I am certainly not ever going to drive Boaz's car - which is a brand new Audi A4!!! Although that might just cause some sparks, but maybe not the ones we have in mind ;)
