It's funny we pray to God, and often we think He hasn't answered - that He is silent. While at times this is the case, more often than not we fail to recognize the answer to prayer.
I'm loved!!
Now considering my most recent posts you might assume, erroneously however, that I am referring to some romantic notion of love - to that I say "HA!"
It is such a humbling moment to realize, or more accurately to acknowledge being loved.
My Mum - who never fails to listen
My Dad - who "lets" my mum listen
Ronnie - time spent together, concern etched on face
Lisa - asking first about me when she is calling for prayer
Stacey - her 'desire' "in another life" to have me and her brother together, so we can be related!
Rita - her words of encouragement as I "start to date?!"
Marissa - her delight on her face that we get "to hang out"
Carlie - her morning texts and myspace comments
Simple actions that speak volumes. Actions that speak of love. And really they demonstrate God's love, His love for me. In His image we were created, and through Him we love --
There are times when I've asked God to demonstrate His love and He does, He did this weekend in a very visual way through the people He has placed in my life. Additionally, as my "quote of the season" illustrates this has been a time of trusting, and sometimes when trusting, at least for me, you are left to wonder if you are really are trusting; because there are certain situations wherein knowing what trust "looks like" is difficult.
On Saturday I read Psalm 32, and verse 10 stuck out to me ("The Lord's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in Him"). Today as I was reflecting on love, the verse came to mind, and with it the peace, reassurance, and hope my heart sorely needed.
I may not understand my life right now, but I am sure of three things:
God Loves Me
I Trust Him
He Hears Me - hears even what I don't speak.
Thank you God for your word, thank you that it echoes truth in my life. Thank you for surrounding me with love - that the people in my life, the people you've placed in my life demonstrated love this weekend.
