just barely

So it is 1150PM, and I am just making it for a Monday blog. Really I should be sleeping, but I am drawn to update this blog, I cannot get out of the habit. Speaking of habits, not eating chocolate for 46 days really did become a habit, and I do have to remind myself that I can eat chocolate again. The sad thing is the first few days it was too much, just two little mini Cadbury's chocolate eggs was too much!! I am slowly increasing the intake, but there are days where a small morsel of chocolate is just too overwhelming to the tastebuds.

Continuing on the theme of habits, once again I had difficulty with my car this evening. Perhaps not really a habit that I want to continuing cultivating, but cultivated it is nonetheless!!!

This evening I strayed from my normal Monday Night Kickboxing and joined a friend for dinner, and then we went on to listen to Louise Leaky speak.

As seems customary when I need to be somewhere, my employer was home late, which meant I was running late - but I wasn't stressed, there wasn't anything I could do about it. We enjoy a delicious meal at the Hotel De Anza, and leave to retrieve our cars from valet parking. Well, my friend's car is ready and waiting and for some reason the valet thinks my car isn't and sets off at a trot to go and retrieve it, with my keys. We realize my car is in fact parked in front of the hotel, but now the valet is off and running. Time is ticking, and my friend isn't all that patient and is getting restless that we will be late, and wants to suggest that we leave my car at the valet's expense and head in her car. Well, as it turns out we do leave my car - because lo and behold my car has a flat tire. Yes, my driver's side back wheel was extremely flat!!
Off to the lecture - so to speak - our tickets say row 5, seat 8 (and 7 correspondingly), however they also say "grand tier" which none of the ushers when directing us around the theatre seem to note, and we are seated in the fifth row from the front. Actually I am seated as my friend uses the restroom. As I sit, I realize the mistake and am trying to get up and leave as the MC speaks, and before Louise comes on. My friend has now entered the theatre, and is walking down the the row to sit and has a look of frustration on her face because there are no empty seats next to me, so she is assuming that someone is sitting in her seat. We vacate the row, take our tickets to the usher, who still tries to tell us that they are our seats, until I point out "grand tier." She won't let us just sit, so we exit the theatre into the lobby, and ask for assistance from another usher, who tells we can't be seated, we have to be late seating in the asile, which we tell we've been denied. In a huff he heads off to find another usher to seat us, the usher tells him we can be seated, and he is adamant that we cannot because we are LATE. This new usher informs that balcony seating can be seated at any time...

PHEW...off to the balcony, the "grand tier" and we go in and my friend at this point is not satisified to sit on the end, and we have to move past people to get to our seats in the center -- at this point Louise Leaky is speaking!!!

Lecture over, back to the car -- thinking I am going to have call the towing company, and thinking "oh no, i never did fax the new address, now we can have trouble...oh well, can't do anything more about it" *shurg*

My friend drops me off and and I go to retrieve my keys, and lo and behold those nice valet gents have actually changed my tire for me, and put on the spare. Isn't that amazing??? So, I didn't have to wait for the towing company, nor deal with the legistics, or anything of that nature. I felt bad, my boot, my trunk has a stroller in it, random sand toys, and an assortment of other paraphenlia that who knows why it is in there. Maybe they, the valets, felt sorry for me -- my car is very "mummified" right now, in the sense of the stroller, back seat with two car seats, and kid toys, and front seat with bags from changing on the way...

Either way, for whatever reason they did it, I was truly appreciative and felt very agreeable to the service area :)
SO, tire fixed tomorrow and hopefully that is the end of any other brewing car habits!!!
