the above in read is taken from a young student's blog on myspace, a girl who in some ways is looking to me for mentoring. P and P - pride and prejudice is one of my faves, I enjoyed the book although not as much as Persuassion, but I also quite like the Kiera Knightley movie version. I recently, well on Friday, rewatched the movie - I am indoctrinating all those that haven't seen it yet. (As an aside, I was hoping I could indoctrinate Boaz, but he has actually already seen it!!).

Anyways this viewing around this is what I realized, and is what I also posted as a comment to the young girl's blog:

p and p - it's creeping into your system *NAME*. i just watched it again on friday night -- *sigh* mr. darcy... what i did realize watching it this time around, is that for all of mr. darcy's appeal and delight and *sigh* factor, he isn't perfect. he had faults and imperfections and he made mistakes and he was impulsive and brash and was often at times as equally in the wrong as lizzie, yet that is what makes him mr. darcy and does give him that *sigh* factor -- because you realize that despite, or rather in spite of the "pride" and "prejudice" of lizzie and darcy both, they do succoumb to love and that they do ultimately make that choice to let themselves experience that love!!!
