old friends

I just finished reading "Sunsets" by Robin Jones Gunn - another book in the Glenbrooke Series. I have been rereading the series the past couple of weeks. For me it is akin to spending time with a friend. I know these characters and their stories, and sitting and immersing myself in their lives carries some measure of comfort.

There's this scene towards the end of the book that made me chuckle because it reminded me of a scene from my own story - as an aside, what would I name my story???

"...if I were looking for a relationship, you would be the kind of woman I'd be interested in. You are genuine and steady. You trust God in a big way, and you're beautiful. But then, you know all that." (So says the male lead).

Her response: "So what I hear you saying is that you like me. You like what our relationship - that we're supposedly not haivng - is doing in your life. But you don't want to have this relationship."

Feeling a little morose tonight, maybe it's the medicine!!!
