blog topics

So I was thinking today about blog topics, and sort of mentally revisiting blog entries of others, and I came to thinking that there are two modes of blogging -- the first being to choose a subject, and blog only on that subject and second to randomly blog. Thinking about who I am, and how I tend to write and debrief the day I would swing from single subject versus random, and I realized the importance of honing the skill of choosing a subject, and blogging on that subject only -- a difficult discipline for me, because on days such as today I could blog a thousand --

today, you see, was my first day with both the baby and the little girl I nanny (the mum returned to work today after her maternity leave), and while I have been there during the day with just me and the two angels, today was our first day trekking out in the wild -- the day began with my shower not working, that's ok, I don't need a shower...then off to work - today is library day, get all of us ready, dressed, fed, changed, bundled in car seats, strapped in, bag of snacks, drinks, diapers, etc and library full of books to return - get to the library, and realize the library is CLOSED - it IS Martin Luther King Jr. Day...not to be deterred, because we are already out, we head to Borders to read some stories (thank God for bookstores which allow their patrons to come in and read books and yet not purchase a single one)...HOME, I lose my ring, my ring which I've had since I was 16 -- can't find it, getting a little panicked...but again thanks is due to God, because after a frantic search I locate the ring in the folds of the baby's built in blanket on the car seat ... To make the day sweet though, both little munchkins slept from 2 - 340 -- glorious time with no stories, and no singing, and no cooing, and no why questions, and how come questions, and what did you say ellie questions, and no nothing but me and the parenting magazine!!!!

See, so that could have been my blog and I suppose it would have fit with both a specific topic of "my day" as well as leaning towards a sense of randomness...

well, there are always other topics, and other things I can type and write but I will withhold, and perhaps allow myself a random blog once a week...
