Remember when I mentioned that there is a "someone" who could be in the picture, well I discovered that the feelings might in fact be mutual. As I was pondering this during the course of the day I was reminded of the scene from the movie Pride and Prejudice - Charlotte and Lizzy are standing together at the ball at Bingley's house watching Jane and Bingley interact --
Lizzy: I think he likes her very much
Charlotte: But does she like him? There are few of us secure enough to be in love without proper encouragement. Bingley likes her - enormously, but might not do more if she does not help him on.
Lizzy: She's just shy and modest. If he cannot perceive her regard he is a fool.
Charlotte: We are all fools in love...She should move fast, snap him up.
I think that Charlotte in this scene is the voice of wisdom. Sometimes the fear of "being in love" alone is enough to keep that attraction close to heart, but yet if encouragement is not offered how can love bloom? It wasn't until the close of the story that Bingley and Jane reunite, and that would not have happened had not Lizzy revealed Jane's affection, and Darcy himself had not persuaded Bingley to put his heart out for Jane.
So what I really need is a Lizzy and a Darcy and then I can remain a Jane - shy and modest :) But perhaps I am more Lizzy than Jane -- time will tell. I do however think Charlotte speaks accurately on at least two accounts: encouragement is a must and we are all fools in love!!!

As an aside, writing this blog brought to mind the book "The Cubicle Next Door" wherein the character blogs her life and gradually her attraction to her cubicle mate, and the cubicle mate reads the blog and is given the encouragement he needs in pursuing her. Two things: one my "someone" does not know my blog and two see again, the need for encouragement!!!!
