Early Morning Coffee

Ronnie's car isn't working, so I graciously took him to work - at 6AM! Do you know it is still dark at that hour??

I had work this morning, so I would have left the house at 7, and rather than return home and be tempted by the soft folds of my bed, I went to Peet's Coffee - actually in hope of wi-fi, but they don't have it.

What they do have is at approximately 645 a rush of customers and it is one of those rushes where names were known and matched to orders. All these people swarmed in decked out in suits and looking crisp and bright, as if the promise of coffee made the day that much gentler. Interestingly enough there were more males than females. Now I am not sure if there is a reason to this occurence, I could speculate that it was in Los Gatos and the location could have played a part - more women stay at home? They work part time and hire nannies for later? Pure speculation...

Sitting near me were two gentlemen, they were seated before my arrival, and not only were they already there for coffee, they had already completed a morning run.

I don't know how people can do it so early. I really like to think that I could be that type of person - early rise and all, but it just isn't me.

My best time of the day is late evening, night even. My mind rushes with thoughts and stories and ideas and my mouth can be a regular motor mouth (shocking perhaps to some) if given the opportunity.

I do rise relatively early for work - I leave @ 7am, and am "on" at 730 because the children are up, and we have to keep moving. But given the choice I choose burrowing down into my bed and duvet and drifting in dreamland for as long as reasonably possible, reasonably possible determined by a variety of factors ranging from the pressure of my bladder, the events of the day, the heat of the room, or the rumblings of my tummy. (See I can make a decision)!!

That whole Proverbs 31 woman about being a woman of value and getting up early to care for her family and her household, etc - yeah well that verse in that section I just don't think is going to have much application to me!!
