Take four grown individuals - all capable in their own right at making decisions and living life. None of them go hungry, nor do any them fail to participate and enjoy varied activities.
Put these same four individuals in a room together and two hours later a decision is finally made!!
What is it that renders four intelligent and seemingly skilled decision making individuals incapable of making a decision?!
Too fussy? Too ambivalent? Too considerate? Too opinionated?
Whatever "too" it may be, surely a better system can be developed because spending two hours prowling the TV guide looking for something to watch, and then subsequently going round in circles deciding on where to eat just isn't an ideal repeat option.
From my perspective, because yes I was one of the four, it stemmed from a mix of ambivalence and consideration. I really didn't mind what we watched or where we ate, but I did start to get irritated as the hour mark rolled around and we were still vacillating between choices.
Seriously though we are all friends, half of the foursome is even a married couple (although that doesn't necessarily mean that is a positive mark in the whole equation)!! Perhaps we should be more like children, and skip the "grown up" component, because I think children do a far better job at coming to decisions, they aren't afraid to voice their desires for entertainment and food intake.
I don't know, I am really not one to talk seeing as I didn't make a decision, but again therein lies the rub - I didn't perceive myself to be in the position to make a decision.
Ah, well I have a few more blogs to type up, they keep spilling out around me and I need to excrete all the ideas before they begin polluting one another.
