Those pictured: Ronnie (my younger brother) and Tamara (his girlfriend), Mum, David (my older brother) and Megan (my sister in law), Guillaume (now, who could he be?!), Dad, and of course, me!!! Latte and Tetley are the only two missing in this photo!
We all travelled to my parents' house this past weekend to celebrate Christmas. Saturday December 29th became the honorary Christmas Day celebration for me and my family. It was a little bit like entering the Twilight Zone, we holed up in the house for the whole day Saturday - starting the day with a full cooked breakfast, and then presents and then simply enjoying each other's company in the many forms of games, etc. We dined on Turkey, Pork, Roast Pots, Carrots, Parsnips, Brussel Sprouts, and Stuffing -- all the cooking was courtesy of my mum, and tasted delicious.
Friday saw the Tennis Show Down of the year --Roddick and Federer eat your heart out, because Guillaume and David ruled the courts!!! Would the rain stop them? Oh no! Would the cold stop them? Not these two! No, they battled it for the love of the game, and bragging rights for the next year. The Frenchman did leave the courts victorious, abandoning his culture's ways of lose and surrender ;) But let it be said that the Englishman held on -- not bad for a smokin' paraplegic!! I did admittedly give my allegience to the stunningly handsome Frenchman, what can I say -- I may be Britican, but it may eventually merge to "Briticanch" -- time will tell on that one.
So despite the fact that we didn't actually celebrate Christmas Day until four days past the official date, it did not matter because when we did celebrate it was a celebration full of love, warmth, and laughter -- a time for us as a family to enjoy each other's company, trade insults, and generally be.
